Women's Track Opens Outdoor Season with Snowflake Classic

The women's track team opened up its spring season at the Snowflake Classic hosted by Tufts University on April 1. The Eagles claimed one event and seventeen other top five finishes.
Freshman Christina Reagan won the triple jump with a leap of 34'10.25". She bested the second-place finisher by over a foot.
Other scorers in field events included: Kristyn O'Brien (third- pole vault), Lauren Claudia (fifth- pole vault), Megan Kearney (second- discus), and Lindsay Hudnut (fourth- javelin). Kearney's toss of 134'1" in the discus placed her in second place on Boston College's all time performance list and Hudnut's 114'7" throw secured her a fifth-place position on the javelin list
The Eagles' top finishers on the track includes: Nikki Pogue (fifth- 100 meters, fifth- 200 meters), Rachel D'Amora (fourth- 200 meters), Jenifer Vendetti (second- 400 meters), Sharon VanTuyl (second- 800 meters, second- 1500 meters), Laura Smith (fourth- 800 meters, third- 1500 meters), Meghan Cunniff (fifth- 800 meters), Meghan Andrade (fourth- 1500 meters), Lisa McIsaac (fifth- 1500 meters), Meredith Millet (fourth- 3000 meters), and Kate Sullivan (tied for third- 100 meter hurdles).
The women's track team will next compete on April 7 at the Connecticut Invitational. Selected members of the team will also travel to Durham, N.C. on April 7-8 to compete in the annual Duke Invitational.
