The women's tennis team dropped two matches, to the University of Pennsylvania (7-2) and Princeton (5-4), on March 25 and 26, respectively.
Against the Quakers, junior Cynthia Tow contributed the two Eagle victories. She won her singles match against Lenka Beranova, 6-1, 6-1, the teamed with classmate Kiren Fernando to defeat the doubles tandem of Beranova and Rochelle Raiss, 8-4. Sophomore Ruta Vietas extended her match to three sets before falling, 1-6, 6-1, 3-6, to Jolene Sloat in the sixth singles position.
At Princeton, the Eagles and Tigers each won three singles matches, but Princeton took two of three doubles matches to earn the victory. Tow and Fernando earned wins in the first and second singles spots and senior Mercedes del Valle won the fifth singles match to give Boston College three wins. Tow and Fernando also teamed to win their second doubles match in two days, but the Tigers won the remaining matches to bring the final score to 5-4 in favor of Princeton.
Boston College will next face Dartmouth at 1 p.m. on Sunday, April 2 at the Flynn Recreational Complex on Boston College's Chestnut Hill, MA campus.
