March 5, 2000 - The men's lacrosse team opened the 2000 campaign with a 17-9 win over Canisius. The win marked the first in the coaching career of new head coach Dave Curnick.
Curnick's aggressive style resulted in the Eagles taking 56 shots to Canisius' 36. They put constant pressure on the Griffs all game long.
The Eagles were led by a phenomenal effort from senior Dan Hayden (Lakewood, OH), who tallied six goals and three assists on the day.
Other highlights included three-goal performances by juniors Michael Adair (New Canaan, CT) and Andy Koch (Rye, NY).
Senior captain Tom Gallagher (Point Lookout, NY) made eight saves on the day.
