
Women's Tennis Drops Match To James Madison

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College won three matches against James Madison on March 8, but could not pull out the victory, falling to the Dukes, 5-2.
Third singles player Kiren Fernando and sixth singles player Kim Arbuckle won two singles matches for the Eagles. Fernando, a junior, faced Lauren Dalton and won in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2. Arbuckle, the team's senior captain, won her match against Sarah Gransen, 6-1, 6-3.
The tandem of freshman Jessica Engel and junior Barbara Privrel took the third doubles match, 8-3, but James Madison won the first two matches to take the doubles point.
The match against the Dukes was the first of four scheduled for the Eagles as they traveled South to Florida for Spring Break. Boston College is also scheduled to face Miami (3/9), Florida International (3/10) and Florida Atlantic (3/11) before heading back to Chestnut Hill.
