Men's Track Wins UNH/UVM Meet

Led by double wins by senior Derek Holland and junior Jonathan Ordway, the men's track team won the annual New Hampshire and Vermont meet held on February 12 in Durham, N.H.
Holland won both the 1000M and 1500M in 2:33 and 3:56, respectively. Ordway, who is now undefeated on the season, won the 55M in 6.44 and the 200M in 22.80.
Senior captain Ruben Marin won his third meet of the season in the high jump with his 6'6" leap.
The Eagles also secured top honors in the long sprint races, taking the 400M with senior Peter Vaglio's 51.48 and winning the 500M with junior Jeff Normant's 67.41.
Boston College also won both relays, taking the 4x400M in 3:27.85 and the 4x800M in 8:07.72.
Other Eagle scorers included: freshmen Gabe Verdaguer (third- high jump, triple jump, second- long jump), Matt Kootman (second-3000M), Vernon Mickle (second-800M), Brad Chun (third-pole vault), sophomores Tony Bierne (fourth-shot put, fifth-weight throw), Mike Krashes (third-800M), Bennett Valencia (second-500M), Dedrick DeWalt (third-55M), Jamal Burke (third-200M), and seniors Jason Pink (fourth-pole vault), Matt Ramsey (third-55M hurdles), Mark Fonnemann (fourth-1500M), and captain Erik DeMarco (third-400M).
Selected Eagles will next compete in the BIG EAST Championships in Syracuse, N.Y. on February 19-20.
