CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College volleyball team defeated Central Connecticut 3-0 tonight in the Eagles' 2000 home finale. Junior outside hitter Brooke Shull led the team offensively with 16 kills while sophomore opposite Rachel Bach had 10 kills.
The Eagles, who improved to 12-17 overall, took control of the match early with a dominating 15-2 first-game victory. The Blue Devils turned things around in game two, however, taking the Eagles into extra points before BC claimed the set 16-14. BC extinguished the CCSU threat in the third game, though, downing the Devils 15-3. Jackie Fernandez tallied a team-high seven kills to lead CCSU, who fell to 12-17 overall with the loss.
The Eagles look to close out their 2000 season on a high-note with a BIG EAST Conference match against Providence College on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
