JAMAICA, QUEENS, N.Y. - Boston College's volleyball team dropped a tight match to St. John's tonight, 3-1, as sophomore opposite Rachel Bach's 20 kills were not enough to guide the Eagles past the Red Storm in BIG EAST action.
The Johnnies (17-4 overall, 2-1 BIG EAST) took the first game in extra points, 16-14, and carried their momentum into game two, taking the second stanza handily 15-8. The Eagles (5-12 overall, 1-2 BIG EAST) stormed back with vigor, though, capturing game three with a strong 15-7 showing, but couldn't hold their steam, dropping the fourth and final frame 15-10. St. John's Olga Roudovski tallied 27 kills to lead all players.
The Eagles will next see action on Sunday, when they travel to Storrs, Conn. to take on UConn at 2 p.m.
