Boston College opened its match play this season under Rob Miller on Sunday October 1, competing against the Terriers at Boston University. The Eagles did not drop a point, winning all six singles matches and all three doubles as well. The Eagles were led by a strong freshman contingent of three players who all won in singles and in doubles.
The Eagles were represented by seven team members. The Eagles went 6-0 in singles led by freshman Justin Slattery at first singles, who defeated BU's Adam Siegel. The rest of the Eagle lineup included senior Jason Cowett at the number two spot, freshman Brad Anderson at third, junior Marc Lucero at fourth, freshman Ross Pytko fifth, and junior Colin Kennedy rounding out the lineup. Slattery and Cowett combined to win the first doubles, as did Anderson and Lucero the second, and Pytko with sophomore Damon Vartabedian for the third doubles match.
The Boston College men's tennis team will next compete at home against the University of Massachusetts on Thursday, Oct. 5, at 2 p.m.
