Volleyball Sweeps Villanova 3-0

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College volleyball team defeated Villanova tonight 3-0 in a BIG EAST Conference match-up in Power Gym, increasing their winning streak to three straight. Eagles' sophomore opposite Rachel Bach led the team offensively with 14 kills while sophomore outside hitter Lauren Schwer had 10 kills and 17 digs.
The Eagles, who improved to 8-13 overall and 2-3 BIG EAST with the win, took control of the match early with a dominating 15-4 first-game victory. BC took game two 15-12, and again thoroughly controlled game three en route to another 15-4 victory that claimed the match for the Eagles, 3-0. Breen Eddinger tallied a team-high 10 kills to lead the Wildcats, who fell to 8-14 overall and 1-4 in the BIG EAST with the loss.
The Eagles look to extend their winning streak to four matches when they face Georgetown in another BIG EAST Conference match on Sunday at Power Gym. Match time is 1 p.m. and admission is free.
