Women's Golf Wins Beanpot Tournament

BOSTON, MASS. - In one of their most impressive outings this year, Boston College's Women's Golf team took first place honors at the annual Beanpot Tournament. This battle between Boston College, Boston University, Harvard, and Northeastern has produced different winners in years past, but this year the Eagles came out far ahead of the competition with a two-round 672 total. Harvard finished the tournament in second place with a 708, with Boston University in third with a 789 and Northeastern in last place with an 890.
The Eagles also lead the field in individual competition. Boston College freshman Lauren Panneck made her first official appearance in team competition this year. She claimed first place individual honors over the field of 19 with a two-day 158 (79-79). Channing Lovejoy, another freshman Eagle, claimed second place honors with a 164 (83-81), while teammate Roxanne Somboonsiri won the bronze with a 170 (85-85).
The Eagles hope to continue their stellar performance on Thursday, October 18. They will face off against Holy Cross in Worcestor, Mass.
