CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College fell 9-0 to New Hampshire Sunday in Kelley Rink. The Wildcats improved to 15-4-0 overall and 11-4-0 in the ECAC. BC dropped to 5-12-1 and 1-12-1 in the loop.
Samantha Holmes scored twice - including one power-play goal - and added an assist for the Wildcats. Tina Carrabba also contributed two tallies, including one short-handed, unassisted goal in the second period. Melissa McKenzie fed her linemates three times. Carisa Zaban found the back of the net once with one assist. Becky Livengood, Kerry Maher, Jenn Wildman and Kristine Butt accounted for the rest of the UNH goals. Butt and Wildman also fed one goal each.
Annie Fahlenbock and Kali Wilson each assisted a goal.
The Wildcats got on the scoreboard early, posting their first goal 1:19 into the game, climaxing with Carrabba's short-handed strike, UNH's fourth goal of the first period, at 14:24. UNH went on to score three goals in the space of two minutes in the second with the first by Carisa Zaban, coming at 3:51. Holmes registered a goal in each period to cap UNH's scoring.
Alicia Roberts recorded 11 saves to get the complete-game win in net for New Hampshire. Christy Nentwig (Chesterfield, Mo.) was on record with the loss after making 13 saves in 26 minutes. Sharon VanTuyl (Portage, Mich.) allowed only two goal in her 34 minutes of play, accumulating 21 saves for the Eagles.
BC hosts Yale Saturday (Jan. 29) at Buckingham Browne and Nichols High School in Cambridge. Game time is at 1:30 p.m
