Boston College Wins Women's Cross Country Meet

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Freshman Cate Guiney (Red Bank, N.J.) won her first career collegiate race and her twin sister Maggie followed her in second to lead the Boston College Eagles to victory at the meet held at Franklin Park in Boston, Mass. on Sept. 10. The Eagles also took places four through six.
Cate Guiney won the race in a time of 18:10 and was followed by Maggie at 18:19. Senior Shannon Smith (Fairport, N.Y.) followed the sisters in fourth place. Junior Lisa McIsaac (Edmonton, Alb.) crossed the line in fifth place (18:56) and teammate senior Kyla Barbour (Roswell, Ga.) followed in sixth (18:59). Freshman Meghan Andrade (San Ramon, Calif.) was next for the Eagles in 10th place (19:08) and sophomore Nicole Portley (San Mateo, Calif.) was next in 11th-place.
The Boston College women's cross country team will next compete in the Roy Griak Invitational hosted by the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minn. on September 25.
