CHESTNUT HILL - Junior Barbara Privrel (Zurich, Switzerland) led the Eagles with a 3-1 record in the William & Mary Invitational held in Williamsburg, Va. The Swiss native lost her first-round match, but rebounded to tally three consecutive wins.
BC sophomore Cynthia Tow (Chestnut Hill, MA) lost her first match but finished the tournament with a 2-2 record with victories over opponents from Harvard (6-2, 6-4) and Maryland (6-2, 6-1). Sophomore Kiren Fernando (Lake Oswego, Oregon) also went 2-2. She won her first two matches, before losing to her Virginia Commonwealth opponent in the semifinal round.
BC junior Mercedes del Valle (Mexico City, Mexico) finished with a 2-1 record, gaining victories over opponents from Syracuse and Harvard after suffering a first-round defeat.
The sophomore combination of Tow and Fernando earned a 2-2 record in doubles competition.
