BOSTON (AP) - Becky Gottstein led No. 25 Boston College with 14 points as the Eagles won their seventh straight with a 75-66 victory over the Georgetown Hoyas on Sunday.
The Eagles (13-1, Big East 5-1) jumped into the rankings for the first time in its 26-year history this week.
Boston College trailed 43-42 when Georgetown's Lesley Walker gave the Hoyas a one-point lead with about seven minutes remaining in the second half. But the Eagles pulled ahead on a Cal Bouchard 17-foot jumper at 7:45 and never trailed again.
Alissa Murphy added 13 points for Boston College.
Katie Smrcka-Duffy led the Hoyas (8-5, Big East 2-3) with 28 points and Melba Chambers picked up 12.
Boston College dominated the first four minutes of the game, jumping out to a 12-0 advantage until Smrcka-Duffy scored at 16:36. But a relaxed Eagles defense allowed Georgetown to make a nine-point run, slashing Boston College's lead to four 21-17 with less than 11 minutes remaining in the first half.
Bouchard left the game with a knee injury in the second half. The extend of the injury is unknown.
