Women's Hockey defeats Mankato State 7-4

BOSTON COLLEGE (2-7-1) 7 MANKATO ST. 4 (4-7-0)

Chestnut Hill, MA-The Boston College womens hockey team led by Jane Jorge (Allston, MA), who had a goal and an assist defeated Mankato State 7-4 to earn their second win of the season.

Boston College, who fell to Mankato State on Friday night 5-2 came out strong and at 3:49 of the first period Erin Magee( Troy, N.Y.) found Jen Buckley (New Canaan, CT) to give the Eagles the early lead. BC went in to the locker room up 3-1 at the end of the first period. Nicole DeBlois (Seekonk, MA)scored the game winner for the Eagles at 4:43 of the third period of a cross-ice pass from Genevieve Missirlian (Northbrook, IL).

The two teams fought hard as a result their were 15 penaltys called, eight roughing. Each team had a power-play goal. Erin Haferman scored a hat trick in a losing effort for the Mavericks
