Women's Hockey Earns a Tie with Dartmouth

Hanover, N.H.--The Boston College women's hockey team skated to a 2-2 tie with Dartmouth College on Wednesday night.
After a scoreless first period BC got on the board first on a goal by Amber Bobib(Northbrook, IL) at 5:53 of the second period. The goal came on a two-man advantage for the Eagles after Dartmouth failed to clear the puck. Jane Jorge(Allston, MA) found Bobin for her third goal of the season. Boston College(1-6-1) maintained the lead until 16:47 of the second period when Dartmouth scored to tie the game.
BC took a 2-1 lead into the third period thanks to a late second period goal by Jorge. On a scramble in front of the net Jorge slipped the loose puck in to the net for the Eagle's second power-play goal of the night. Dartmouth tied the game at 7:50 of the third period on a wrist shot by Carrie Sekela to force the game in to overtime. BC's junior goalie Christy Nentwig 32 saves in the tie as the Big Green out shot the Eagle's 34-11. Five of those saves came in overtime, as the Eagle's failed to get a shot off.
BC will host the University of Minnesota, Mankato State this weekend. Friday night the two teams will will get underway at 7 p.m followed by a 12 p.m. start on Sunday.
