Women's Golf Team Finish Fifth at Northeast Championship

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College women's golf team finished fifth at the Northeast Intercollegiate Championship, held April 25-26, in Amherst, Mass. Princeton won the championship with a two-day total of 670. Boston College shot 710.
Junior Katie Shields (Holmdel, N.J.) was the Lady Eagles' top performer with a final score of 162, earning her a third-place finish in a field of 68 golfers. Shields shot a 79 Saturday, second-best among the field, and an 83 the following day. Princeton's Julia Allison took medalist honors with a two-round score of 148.
Boston College freshman Meghan Donoghue (Dover, Mass.) shot a career-best 179 to earn a tie for 17th place, good for second on the team. Senior Rhodora Freyvogel (Pittsburgh, Pa.) showed consistency, posting a total of 183 (91, 92), while sophomores Jackie Shea (Spokane, Wash.) and Tina Haydu (Madison, N.J.) finished with scores of 186 and 187, respectively.
