Volleyball Drops Its BIG EAST Opener

Chestnut Hill, Mass-----The Wildcats defeated the Eagles in four games ( 15-7, 10-15, 15-9, 15-6) in the opening match of BIG EAST play on Saturday.

Villanova was led by senior outside-hitter Megan O'Brien with 16 kills and 24 digs. Teammate Elizabeth Jones contributed with 18 kills and only five errors out of 50 attempts.

BC failed to get the early lead and made a lot of unforced errors that resulted in the defeat. The Eagles had a hitting percentage of only .134 for the match.

Boston College will continue its BIG EAST schedule Sunday at Power Gym versus Georgetown. Match time is 1 p.m.

Villanova(8-7,1-0) defeats Boston College(8-6,0-1) 15-7,10-15, 15-9, 15-6.
