PROVIDENCE, R.I.-- The Boston College softball team tied Providence College, 1-1, in the second game of the conference doubleheader. The game finished after seven innings due to darkness.
Sophomore Lauren Fischetti's double in the third inning scored Emily Desjardins to register the Eagles only run. Providence evened the score at 1-1 in the fourth inning when Nicole Nelson hit a homerun.
Mary Dietz pitched seven innings for Boston College, allowing three hits and one run, while striking out 14. Heather Nathan pitched seven innings for Providence, and allowed five hits and one run.
Boston College's record is now 14-3-1 and Providence is 9-12. The Eagles are 1-0-1 in BIG EAST action.
