The Boston College mens tennis team defeated the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, 4-2.
The Eagles captured four of the six singles matches. The two teams did not compete in doubles competition.
Junior Anand Annigeri (Manchester, Conn.) won at No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-4. Freshman Tim Brennan (Malden, Mass.) defeated his opponent at No. 3, 6-1, 6-4.
Sophomore Jason Cowett (Del Mar, Calif.) needed three sets to settle his encounter in the fourth position. He emerged victorious, 6-2, 5-7, 6-4. Senior captain Chris Amundsen (Mercer Island, Wash.) won in straight sets at No. 5-- 6-2, 6-3.
The Eagles return to action on Thursday, October 15 when they battle Fairfield Universityu
