NATICK, Mass. - Boston College senior midfielder Chris Lynch (Chagrin Falls, OH) scored the game-winning goal from 18 yards at the 42:20 mark to lift the Eagles to a 3-0 victory over UMass-Lowell at Natick High School.
Freshman forward Chris Cleary (Milton, MA) scored BCs second goal at 61:33 when he followed up sophomore Kevin Boyds (Del Mar, CA) shot that careened off the crossbar. Freshman Eyvind Aasen (Grimstad, Norway) also added an assist to Clearys goal.
Freshman forward Roy Beverage (Kingsville, MD) capped off the scoring in the 81st minute when he blasted the ball past Lowells senior goalkeeper Michael White. Beverages tenacious goal came off a rebound of his own shot.
Sophomore goalkeeper Chris Hamblin (Bristol, England) made two saves. Boston College senior Michael Babst (Pittsburgh, PA) made his collegiate debut but did not register a save. White recorded three saves for UMass-Lowell.
Boston College improved to 2-0 on the season and the River Hawks fell to 0-1. The Eagles will be back in action at 1 p.m. on Sunday, September 6 when they host the Boston University Terriers at Natick High School.
