The Boston College mens lacrosse team fell to 1-5 overall after losing to Bucknell, 20-8, on April 10.
BC played a strong first quarter against the Bison. Goals by senior Pat McCavanaugh, junior Dan Hayden and senior Tyler Jewell landed the Eagles in a 3-3 tie after 15 minutes.
Boston College remained close in the second quarter and trailed 10-7 at halftime. Bucknell dominated the second half en route to its victory. McCavanaugh finished the game with a team-high three goals. Hayden added two tallies and Jewell notched two goals to increase his team-leading total to 12 tallies this season.
Senior Anthony Cirri made 20 saves in net.
On March 30, BC fell to Massachusetts, 17-7, in Amherst, Mass. Freshman Scott Lee was the lone bright spot for the Eagles, tallying three goals. He currently ranks second on the team with seven tallies.
Cirri made 10 saves before giving way to junior Tom Gallagher who made seven stops.
The Eagles lost a heartbreaker to Hartford on March 27. Bidding for its second win of the season, BC led 13-11 after three quarters. However, the Eagles could only manage one goal in the final frame and fell, 15-14.
Jewell and senior Welles Crowther led the offense with three goals apiece. McCavanaugh, sophomore Michael Adair and junior Mike Sullivan each netted two goals.
Cirri made 16 saves for the Eagles.
The Eagles will return to action when they face Yale on April 14 in New Haven, Conn.
