The Boston College mens lacrosse team fell to 1-2 overall after losing to Harvard, 12-6, in Cambridge, Mass. on March 24.
The score was tied 1-1 after the first quarter but the Crimson tallied three second-quarter goals to take a 4-1 halftime lead. Sophomore Michael Adair notched the lone Eagle goal after 30 minutes.
Harvard scored four goals in both the third and fourth quarters to increase their lead on BC senior goaltender Anthony Cirri. Cirri finished with 22 saves in 60 minutes of work.
In addition to Adair's three goals, senior Tyler Jewell netted two Eagle goals. Freshman John Finn added his first collegiate goal for Boston College.
On March 20, the Eagles defeated Sacred Heart, 16-7, to earn their first win of the season. BC was led by junior Dan Hayden who tallied three goals and four assists.
Jewell and freshman Scott Lee both netted three goals, while Adair and sophomore James Garth both scored two goals. Junior Kieran O'Connor and senior Welles Crowther each added one goal. Cirri made 16 saves before Gallagher entered the game and made three saves.
On March 6, The Eagles began the season in Towson, Maryland where they lost, 16-4, to Towson University. O'Connor scored the lone BC goal of the first half as the Eagles trailed 11-1 at the break.
BC netted three fourth-quarter goals. Hayden, Garth and sophomore Taylor Whitman each scored in the final stanza. Cirri made 18 saves in 50 minutes before being relieved by junior Tom Gallagher who made four saves.
