Men's Lacrosse Defeats University of Vermont in Overtime

CHESTNUT HILL, Ma. - Sophmore Dan Hayden scored his seventh goal of the season at 1:18 in the overtime period to give Boston College (4-6) a 15-14 victory over the University of Vermont (1-7) this afternoon.
Senior Kevin McLane, junior Pat McCavanaugh and junior Chris Zakak all had hat tricks for the Eagles. McCavanaugh also added three assists.
Freshman John Edwards scored five goals for Vermont, including the first two of the game, and junior Mitchell Butler notched three goals.
Junior goalie Anthony Cirri posted 18 saves for the Eagles, while sophmore Carl Langfeldt stopped 17 shots for Vermont.
With his three goals and one assist today, Boston College senior Kevin McLane is only four points shy of breaking the school's record for career points.
The Eagles will next host Providence on Wednesday April 15 at 7:00 p.m.
