Smith tallied the gamewinner at 13:25 of the third period. Scott Clemmensen made 17 saves.

For Whom the Bellefeuille Tolls ... Junior forward Blake Bellefeuille has tallied at least one power-play goal in the each of the last three games ... Stonewall Clemmensen ... Sophomore netminder Scott Clemmensen won both games of the Ice Breaker Cup in Minneapolis, Minn. He made a season-high 31 saves against Ohio State in the tournament's opening round on Oct. 9 ... Last year, Clemmensen set a BC single-season record with 24 wins.
The Crown Giuls ... Freshman Jeff Giuliano has seven assists in nine games ... He recorded two assists in his collegiate debut against Ohio State.
The Coach ... Jerry York is in his fifth season at Boston College. He has a 76-69-15 (.522) record at the Heights ... York is currently seventh on the NCAA all-time winningest coaches list with 543 victories. He is 12 victories behind former Michigan Tech coach John MacInnes who holds sixth place ... Before coming to BC, York served as the head coach at Clarkson and Bowling Green, winning the national title at BGSU (1983-84) ... York recorded 125 wins in seven years at Clarkson ... He earned his 500th collegiate victory in the Eagles last trip to St. Lawrence on Nov. 30, 1996.

* BC fans set a Kelley Rink record during the 1989-90 season as 118,694 fans attended 23 hockey games, an average of 5,160 per game. This season, Boston College is averaging 6,819 after four games in Kelley Rink.
* When Mike Mottau notched four assists against Boston University on Nov. 20 it marked the second time this season he reached the feat. Mottau also notched four assists against UMass-Lowell on Oct. 31.
* The point distribution between classes is relatively even after eight games. The junior class leads in every category.
