Men's Hockey Defeats New Hampshire, 6-3

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Junior forward Blake Bellefeuille netted two goals and classmate Jeff Farkas notched one goal and three assists to lead Boston College to a 6-3 HOCKEY EAST win over New Hampshire before a crowd of 7,738 at BC's Kelley Rink.
Boston College, which scored two goals in each period, finished with three power-play goals, while limiting New Hampshire to just one power-play goal on seven opportunities.
New Hampshire trimmed the Eagles' lead to 3-2 late in the second period, before Boston College scored the game's decisive tally just before the horn sounded to end the middle period. After New Hampshire was whistled for a penalty at 19:49 of the period, Boston College won the ensuing face-off and junior defenseman Mike Mottau netted the power-play goal at 19:59 to give the home team a 4-2 advantage at the second intermission.
BC senior Chris Masters extended the lead to 5-2 at 1:52 of the third period, before New Hampshire's Matt Dzieduszycki scored his team's only power-play goal to pull the Wildcats back to within two goals at 7:16. BC's Farkas finished the scoring at 11:52.
Boston College (8-4-1) led 2-0 after one period. Junior Cory Bilodeau netted his first collegiate goal at 10:59 to open the scoring, and Bellefeuille added a power-play goal at 19:21.
New Hampshire (9-3-1) twice closed to within one goal in the second period. Defenseman Mark White scored his first collegiate goal at 3:42 to put the Wildcats on the board and, after Bellefeuille scored his second man-advantage goal of the night for the home team, forward Matt Swain rallied the Wildcats to within striking distance once again.
BC sophomore Scott Clemmensen finished with 27 saves, while New Hampshire's Sean Matile made 25 stops.
Boston College returns to action at Merrimack on Tuesday, December 8.
