Hockey Signs Four Highly-Regarded Prospects

CHESTNUT HILL - Four highly-regarded student-athletes have signed national letters of intent to play hockey at Boston College, head coach Jerry York announced. The four players who will join the Eagles for the 1999-2000 season are Bill Cass, a defenseman who played for the U.S. National Under-18 Team; Tim Kelleher, a goaltender from the St. Sebastians (Mass.) School; Krys Kolanos, a forward who played for the Calgary Royals in the Alberta Junior Hockey League; and Jeremy Wilson, a forward from Cushing (Mass.) Academy.
Cass, a Hingham, Mass. resident who attended Catholic Memorial High School, played the 1998-99 season for the U.S. National Under-18 Team. In addition, he was invited to the USA Hockey Summer Challenge that was held in August 1998. He was also selected to compete in the first-ever USA Freedom Challenge that was held in December 1998. Both competitions were held in Lake Placid, N.Y.
Kelleher, a Belmont, Mass. resident, earned All-New England honors as a senior goaltender at St. Sebastians. The 1998-99 Independent School League MVP, Kelleher finished his senior season with a 2.03 goals against average. A Hockey Night in Boston All-Scholastic selection in both 1997-88 and 1998-99, he earned HNIB Prep-Private Outstanding Goaltender honors in 1998-99.
Kolanos, a resident of Calgary, Alberta and a graduate of the Strathcona-Tweedsmuir School, earned 1998-99 Alberta Junior Hockey League all-star honors as a member of the Calgary Royals. He led the Royals in scoring, recording 110 points - 43 goals and 67 assists in 58 games in 1998-99.
Wilson, a resident of Shrewsbury, Mass., was a standout left wing at Cushing Academy. He registered 80 points in his final two seasons playing for head coach Steve Jacobs. Wilson was selected as Cushings Best Defensive Player in 1997-98, when the team won the New England title.
