Coach Hadel Hands out Annual Awards

CHESTNUT HILL, MA---At the annual All-Sports banquet on Wednesday May 5th, coach Jackie Hadel proudly recognized Cathleen Carpenter (Pacific Palisades, CA) and Laura Delong(Bay Village, OH) for their commitment to the volleyball program for the 1998-99 season.
Carpenter received the Outstanding Senior Award. She was the teams captain for coach Hadels inaugural season with the Eagles. I could not have asked for a better, more conscientious leader for my team this past season. "It was very important that I come into a situation where I meet a receptive personality; one that would be excited for change and be dedicated to the challenge that was ahead of us", said Hadel.
DeLong, the teams other recipient, will be the teams lone senior in 1999. She received the Outstanding Leadership Award. "This award sums up all of what Laura has meant to our program since last spring. She has continually demonstrated strong leadership skills in the sense that she is an over-achiever and a competitive person. She refuses to give up and does not accept giving anything than less than her best. That is why she will be a great captain for us next year. She is definitely a player for the rest of the team to look up to", explains Hadel.
