NEW BRITAIN, Conn. - Rachel Bach (Jacksonville, Fla./Bolles) tied a season-high of 14 kills to help Boston College defeat host Central Connecticut State University 3-0 (15-3, 15-6, 15-9) Wednesday in New Britain, Conn. The Eagles, who won their second consecutive match, improved to 12-14 overall while dropping Central Connecticut to 5-23.
Bach, a freshman, made only four errors in 23 kill attempts to lead all Eagles. Brooke Shull (San Diego, Calif./Scripps Ranch) contributed her second double-digit kill performance of the season with her 11 kills Wednesday. Kristin Sprinkel (Laguna, Calif./Bishop Luers) served four aces and added four blocks along with her seven kills. Both Mary Fitterer (Puyallup, Wash./Fife) and Lauren Schwer (Naperville, Ill./Naperville Central) registered a team-leading seven digs. Setter Kyleen Charlton (Tampa, Fla./Academy of the Holy Name) made 36 assists in the three-game sweep.
Central Connecticut was led by Beth Holycross' nine kills and Katie Weber's four digs.
BC hosts Providence Friday (Nov. 5) for Senior Day in Power Gym. Game time is at 8 p.m.
