BOSTON (AP) - Troy Bell scored 22 points to lead six Boston College players in double figures as the Eagles rolled to a 104-62 victory over Hartford on Monday.
Kenny Harley scored 14 points, Xavier Singletary had 13, Brian Ross 11, Jon Beerbohm 10 and Uka Agbai 10 for the Eagles (3-1), who surpassed the 100-point mark for the first time since a 116-81 win over Long Island on Dec. 27, 1995.
It was Boston College's biggest margin of victory since a 42-point win over New Hampshire on Nov. 25, 1996.
Keyon Smith led Hartford (1-2) with 13 points.
Trailing 7-6 in the opening minutes, the Eagles went on a game-breaking 22-4 run over a 5:05 span midway into the first half. Beerbohm had six points in the run and Singletary added five.
The Hawks closed the score to 31-22 on Keyon Smith's 3-pointer before Bell took over, scoring 13 points of his 16 first-half points in the final 4:30 of the half as BC moved to a 54-34 edge at intermission.
The Eagles shot 61 percent in the opening half, hitting 19 of 31 shots. Bell hit four out of five shots, including all four 3-point attempts.
In the second half, BC scored 16 of the first 20 points to push to a 30-point lead (70-40) with 13:30 to play. The Eagles moved to a 40-point lead (97-57) with just under four minutes left and surpassed 100 points on Andrew Dudley's layup with 1:25 left.
The Hawks were never closer than 26 points in the final 12:30.
