CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. (Ticker) -- Brianne Stepherson scored 16 points to lead six players in double figures as No. 21 Boston College rolled past Davidson, 86-54.
Stepherson made 7-of-12 shots, grabbed five rebounds and handed out four assists for the Eagles, who made 17-of-32 shots in the opening half and led 50-18 after 20 minutes. Becky Gottstein had 14 points, Alissa Murphy and Cal Bouchard 11 and Jamie Cournoyer and Nicole Conway 10 apiece.
The Eagles led 28-7 12 1/2 minutes into the contest and were never threatened. They made 7-of-13 3-point attempts in the, 21-of-24 free throws and held a 43-33 edge on the boards.
Boston College (3-0) held Davidson (0-1) to 20 percent shooting in the first half and forced 22 turnovers in the contest.
Jennifer O'Brien led the Wildcats with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Davidson made just 3-of-15 shots from behind the arc and missed half of its 26 free throw attempts.
