Mottau Receives HOCKEY EAST Honor

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Senior defenseman Mike Mottau was named HOCKEY EAST's Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 31, the league announced today.
In two games at the University of Minnesota on Oct. 29-30, Mottau registered one goal and three assists. With his second assist in Saturday's 4-1 victory over the Golden Gophers, he became the 10th player and only second defenseman in Boston College history to have 100 assists.
In Saturday's victory Mottau opened the scoring on an assist from Bobby Allen 2:52 into the second period to give the Eagles the lead.
For his career Mottau has played in 126 games and produced 122 points -- 22 goals and 100 assists.
The Eagles, (4-1-0 overall, 2-0-0 HOCKEY EAST) return to action Nov. 7 for a home contest against UMass-Lowell. Game time at Kelley Rink is set for 7 p.m.
