Men's Soccer Downs Sacred Heart

In its final home game of the 1999 season, Boston College defeated Sacred Heart 2-1. Freshman forward Casey Schmidt provided all the scoring for the Eagles.
After a scoreless first half, Schmidt put the Eagles up 65:20 into the match on an assist by freshman Bobby Thompson. Sacred Heart knotted the score at 83:42 on a direct kick.
However, Schmidt provided the Eagles and their fans a last-second thrill when he headed a perfect pass from junior Paul Bourke at 89:24. The goal was Schmidt?s team-leading 10th of the year.
The Eagles now 5-7-2 overall, take to the road to play Connecticut at Storrs, Conn. on Oct. 28 at 2 p.m.
