WASHINGTON, D.C. - Georgetown?s Kenny Owens scored with 1:24 remaining to break a scoreless tie and lift the Hoyas to a 1-0 victory over Boston College.
The Eagles offensive charge was mounted by freshman Casey Schmidt (Newbury Park, Calif.) and Chris Cleary (Milton, Mass.) who each took three shots at the Georgetown goal.
Boston College goalkeeper Chris Hamblin (Bristol, England) registered six saves in the hard luck loss which takes Boston College?s BIG EAST record to 1-4-0.
The Eagles will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 9 when they entertain conference foe West Virginia at 1 p.m.
