CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College volleyball team defeated Villanova 3-1 (15-13, 15-8, 13-15, 15-3) in Penn. Saturday then fell 3-1 (15-8, 15-8, 13-15, 15-7) to Georgetown Sunday in Washington D.C., wrapping up its record at 7-11 overall and 2-2 in the BIG EAST.
BC produced a balanced offensive attack in the victory over the Wildcats as four Eagles landed double-digit kill totals, aided by setter Kyleen Charlton's (Tampa, Fla./Academy of the Holy Name) season-best, nine-kill contribution. She also registered 48 assists and 19 digs. Freshman Rachel Bach (Jacksonville, Fla./Bolles) totaled a collegiate best 14 kills to lead all BC attackers. Juniors Kristin Sprinkel (Laguna, Calif./Bishop Luers) and Julia El-Hag (Bedford, N.Y./Fox Lane) posted 12 kills each while El-Hag dug out 24 balls for the second time this season. Rookie Lauren Schwer (Naperville, Ill./Naperville Central) produced her seventh double-double (10 kills, 12 digs) of the season.
El-Hag earned 10-plus kills for the fifth time in the last seven games, gaining 10 against the Hoyas Sunday. Schwer totaled 10 digs in the same match. Sprinkel added six total blocks (five block assists) in the loss.
