Matt Alberghini
Volunteer Assistant Softball Coach
Alberghini is a volunteer assistant coach for the BC softball program. He arrived at the Heights in 2019. Alberghini will handle the catchers and will be the hitting coach for the Eagles. He is also involved in recruiting and the BC camp coordinator. Alberghini is also the contact for facilities and serves on the student athlete wellness committee.
A native of Virginia, Alberghini arrived at the Heights after a year stint as a graduate manager for the softball team at the University of Washington. Alberghini was instrumental as the Huskies reached the 2019 College World Series and won the PAC-12 Championship for the first time since 2009.
Prior to his time in Seattle, he served as a volunteer assistant coach at the University of Pittsburgh for a season. While with the Panthers, Alberghini helped the team win the division and advance to the ACC tournament championship game.
Alberghini is familiar with the area as he worked with the Hyannis Harbor Hawks in the Cape Cod League in 2017.
A graduate of Coastal Carolina, Alberghini worked as a student manager for the softball team as an undergraduate. He received his master’s degree in Intercollegiate Athletic Leadership from the University of Washington in 2019.
