   AS A COACH

•   This is Yvonne Hawkins’ sixth season as the associate head coach alongside head coach Erik Johnson at Boston College.
•   The two have been a successful coaching combination from the time they began working together at Boston College in 2006 as assistants under former BC coach Cathy Inglese.
•   Hawkins followed Johnson to the University of Denver and became his associate head coach in 2008.
•   This is Hawkins’ 31st year in coaching within the college ranks.
•   Last season, Hawkins was persistent in the development of rookie center Katie Quandt, junior swingman Alexa Coulombe and red-shirt junior Karima Gabriel.
•   Quandt started the last 18 games and averaged 16.7 minutes, 5.4 points and 1.1 blocks per game. Gabriel played in 29 games, started 10 and averaged 15.9 minutes per game while leading the team in blocks with 45. Coulombe had her best season at BC. She played in 28 games, started four and averaged 12.1 minutes per game. She had a career-high of 27 blocks and 14 steals and supplied depth in the post position.
•   In the 2013-14 season, the Eagles went 12-19 overall.
•   In non-conference action, BC went 9-6 with wins on the road at Hofstra, at Providence as well as home wins over FIU, Hartford and Boston University.
•   The Eagles opened the ACC play with a home win over Virginia Tech and scored a big win over Miami by one point at Conte Forum. The Eagles also had a win over UVA by four points at home.
•   The 2013-14 team set a new program record for most three's made in a single season as the team hit 240 long range shots while shooting 36.9 percent. The team was ranked No. 15th in the country in 3-point field goal percentage and 29th in 3-pointers per game.
•   Freshman Kelly Hughes emerged in January to be the Eagles second outside threat as she ranked 17th in the country in 3-point field goal percentage and 75th in three's made per game. She broke teammate Nicole Boudreau's record of three's made by a freshman when she hit 74 three's last season. Boudreau hit 68 and was ranked 53rd in the country in 3-point field goal percentage.
•   The Eagles ranked 24th in the country in free throw percentage (75.1%), while senior Katie Zenevitch shot a team-high 80% from the line.
•   The team shot 42.7 percent from the floor, high enough to place 69th in the country in field goal percentage.
•   Upon returning to BC in the 2012-13 season, Hawkins helped the Eagles go from winning seven games in 2011-12 to a 12-19 overall record. BC improved in ACC action, earning five regular season conference games.
•   In non-conference action, BC earned key wins over perennial power Rutgers as well as BYU.
•   This season, the team won two straight ACC road games – at Virginia Tech and at Clemson – for the first time since entering the conference.
•   BC also won the final regular season ACC game vs. Georgia Tech, the first win over the Yellow Jackets since Jan. 17, 2010.
•   Boston College also defeated Virginia twice – once during the regular season and the second win in the first round of ACC Tournament. It marked the first time BC earned a win over UVA in the ACC Tournament.
•   Under Hawkins guidance, junior forward/center Katie Zenevitch shot 50 percent from the floor and finished 11th in the ACC in the category. She was also third in the conference and 77th overall in the country in free throw percentage.
•   The team led the ACC and was 44th in the country in free throw percentage. BC was also 71st in the country in assists and 82nd in assist-to-turnover ratio.
•   While at the University of Denver, Hawkins helped the team compile a 72-52 overall record while going 34-16 in the Sun Belt Conference.
•   The team earned its first win over a nationally-ranked team when the Pioneers defeated No. 23 Vanderbilt and to key victories over BCS schools Colorado, Oregon and Minnesota.
•   Hawkins worked primarily with the post players at Denver, and helped develop Kaetlyn Murdoch into a three-time Sun Belt Conference first team honoree. Murdoch was third in the nation in field goal percentage in 2009-10, while the team was third (86.2%).
•   Prior to joining Johnson at Denver, Hawkins was on staff at Boston College for four seasons under Cathy Inglese.
•   She helped BC advance to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament in the 2005-06 season as well as the WNIT quarterfinal in 2007-08.
•   Helped recruit the Blue Star Report No. 16th class for BC – four-year starting guard Jaclyn Thoman, ACC Freshman of the Year, Stefanie Murphy and three-time All-ACC center and current WNBA player Carolyn Swords.
•   Hawkins has also been an assistant at both Albany (15 years) and Yale (two years). In addition, she served as head coach for two years at SUNY-Delhi.
•   In her 15-year stint at Albany, Hawkins was an integral member of the coaching staff. She helped the program move from Division III up to Division I from 1996 to 2002. Her last three years with the Great Danes were at the Division I level.

OFF THE COURT

•   Four-year letter-winner at Ashland.
•   Two-time team captain.
•   Spent the summer of 2007 as a scout for the WNBA’s Detroit Shock.
•   Won the Judy Sweet Award at the Alliance For Women’s Coaches Symposium, 2001.

EDUCATION

•   A graduate of Ashland University in 1983 with a bachelor of education degree in physical education and a minor in adapted physical education.
