Richard Mapeza joined Boston College’s Student-Athlete Academic Services team as an Assistant Director in 2024. He serves as the academic counselor for the Men’s Soccer program, supporting student-athletes as they build graduation plans, strengthen study strategies, and take ownership of their academic success.
Mapeza’s background spans academic administration, information technology, and student development. He oversees the SAAS Academic Enrichment Program and coordinates tutorial support for student-athletes.
Before joining Boston College, Mapeza spent seven years as an Information and Communication Technology Teacher and Grade Supervisor at Holy Trinity High School in Kingston, Jamaica, where he developed technology curriculum and supported more than 200 students and faculty.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems from Excelsior Community College, a Master of Science in Leadership and Administration with a focus on Project Management, and a Master of Science in Sports Administration from Boston College.
