Maggie Barden enters her first season as a member of the Boston College Football staff.
Prior to arriving at BC, Barden served as a full-time student athlete academic advisor at Bryant, where she worked closely with the football, women’s basketball, men’s lacrosse, men and women’s cross country and track & field, women's soccer, men and women's golf, and men and women’s tennis programs.
She earned her bachelors degree in sports management with a minor in psychology from Springfield College, where she was also a member of the women’s soccer team and a NEWMAC Academic All-Conference student athlete. Barden earned her masters degree in higher education and a graduate certificate in sports administration from Providence College.
While at Providence, Maggie worked as a graduate assistant in Student-Athlete Wellness Services. While there, she developed a program for graduating student-athletes called “Transition from Sport,” a program that laid the groundwork for student-athletes to begin the transition to a non-athletics focused life style.
Originally from Swampscott, Mass., she formerly served as the general manager of the North Shore Navigators in the New England Collegiate Baseball League. She was the youngest general manager in college summer league baseball and remains the Navigators’ vice president of operations.
Barden continues to participate in competitive sports as a wide receiver and kicker for the Boston Renegades - a professional women’s tackle football team in the Women’s Football Alliance and the current national champions.
