Eric Ziady joined the Boston College Athletics Department on Feb. 22, 2023 as the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Business Operations. Ziady, a former Division I athletics director, returns to the Heights after previously serving in two senior administrative capacities within the athletics department. Â
Ziady has more than 15 years of experience at BC, most recently serving as a senior advisor to the athletics director from 2020-21. Prior to that, he spent 14 years on the staff at Boston College, serving as senior associate athletic director (2010-12), associate athletic director for business operations (2004-10) and assistant athletic director (1998-2004) and oversaw long-range fiscal and strategic planning for the department as well as administering the day-to-day business and financial operations.
From 2012-15, Ziady served as the director of athletics and recreation services at the University of Delaware. While at Delaware, he spearheaded the completion of a $25 million renovation and 18,000-square-foot-addition to the Carpenter Sports Building, a student recreation facility. Ziady also led fundraising efforts for renovations to UD's baseball stadium, soccer facilities, and indoor practice facility while securing a five-year department-wide apparel contract with adidas. During his tenure UD teams won seven Colonial Athletic Association championships including a NCAA Sweet 16 appearance in womens basketball in 2013.
Following his stint as AD at Delaware, Ziady served as the Senior Associate Commissioner and Chief Financial Officer of the American Athletic Conference from 2016-20. At the AAC he had oversight of all financial aspects of the conference including serving on the four-person team that negotiated a $1 billion media rights partnership with ESPN. He also led negotiations for the conference's marketing rights, the AAC's bowl partnership agreements, and the site selection process for its men's and women's basketball championships.

Originally from Andover, Mass., Ziady began his career in athletic administration at Northeastern University, serving as assistant athletic director for finance and administration (1994-98) and athletics business manager (1991-94).

Ziady received a BA in political science with an emphasis in business studies from Providence College in 1988. He earned his masters in sports management in 1989 and later an MBA in 1994 from Northeastern University.

He and his wife, Lauren, are the parents of three children, Matthew, Lindsey and Courtney.
