Colin Shaffer joined the Boston College Athletics Department on May 1, 2023 as Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance. Shaffer comes to the Heights after spending close to seven years at the University of Miami in the compliance office.

Most recently, he served as Director of Compliance and NIL at the University of Miami, a position he had been in since August of 2022. In that position, Shaffer helped coordinate and implement NIL programming for students, coaches, staff, and third parties outside the University, while also overseeing aspects of compliance rules education, financial aid, eligibility and monitoring.

Shaffer joined the Hurricanes in 2016 as an intern while in law school, before being hired full time after graduation in 2019 as an Assistant Director of Compliance. He was promoted to Associate Director of Compliance in October, 2021.

Originally from Huntington Beach, Calif., Shaffer earned a bachelor of science degree from Carnegie Mellon University in 2015, where he played soccer for four years. Upon graduation, he attended the University of MIami School of Law where he graduated with his JD in May of 2018 and earned his Master's Degree in Entertainment, Arts, and Sports Law in December of 2018. He is a member of the Florida State Bar.

Before his time at the University of Miami Compliance Office, Colin worked for several professional sports organizations, private law firms, and in Division III athletics.
