Christine White is in her fifth year as the assistant coach for the women’s tennis team at Boston College.
White has assisted head coach Nigel Bentley in navigating the BC tennis program through the Atlantic Coast Conference, regarded as one of the most competitive tennis conferences in the country.
Her first season at the Heights began with the 2019-20 fall season where the team finished 9-5 overall before COVID-19 forced the cancellation of the remaining matches. Yufei Long and Kylie Wilcox closed the year ranked 38th nationally in doubles as the duo upset the ITA Fall All-American Doubles Champions from Yale. Long also became just the second Eagle in school history to compete in the main draw of the ITA Women’s All-American Championships.
Through the COVID-19 pandemic, White helped the 2020-21 team play a full ACC schedule along with several non-conference matches. Yufei Long closed her career with her second appearance on the All-ACC Third Team. Long and Wilcox (58th) along with Laura Lopez and Marice Aguiar (68th) each closed the year ranked top 75 nationally in doubles.
She has significant ties to Boston College, as both her children attended the university. Nicole White Solomon, ‘15, and Colin White who played for the legendary BC men’s hockey program.
White graduated from Florida State University, where she played for the Seminoles’ nationally ranked women’s tennis team for four years.
Christine resides in Dedham with her husband Mark.
