Amy Weatherby enters her 10th season in 2018-19 as an assistant rowing coach at Boston College. Weatherby takes the lead with the freshmen athletes in the Fall season and works with all members of the team in the Spring.
In 2015-2016 Season was the most successful to date for the entire Boston College Women’s Rowing Team. Weatherby coached the Varsity Four which won the Knecht Cup and also earned the an ACC Boat of the Week title. In the Fall Season the Freshmen Novice 8 won the Foot of the Charles for the first time in program history, while the Second Freshmen 8 also finished in the top 3. In the Spring of 2015 the First and Second Varsity Four both earned medals at the Knecht Cup, and both fours made the Grand Final at the ACC Championship.Â

In the Fall of 2014, the freshmen dominated the Green Monster regatta finishing with fastest two times. The freshmen squad also placed two boats in the Top 5 in the Novice 8 event at the Foot of the Charles. The First and Second Varsity Four performed exceptionally well in Spring 2014 under Weatherby's guidance. Both crews finished 2nd at Eastern Sprints in their respective events, contributing to BC finishing 3rd as a team. The fours performed excellently throughout the season by winning dual and tri meets against Northeastern, MIT, UConn, Holy Cross, St. Joseph University and Loyola.
In 2013, she earned CRCA New England Assistant Coach of the Year honors. In that year she helped lead the Eagles to win the Cannonball Trophy at the Jesuit Invitational for the second year in a row as well as the BC-MIT Cup for the first time.
Weatherby joined the Eagles in 2009 from National Cathedral High School, where she served as head coach of the rowing team for the 2007-2008 and 2008-2009 seasons. During her tenure, she designed a training program for varsity and novice athletes, specifically emphasizing the importance of mental toughness. She coached the rowing team to Gold at the Virginia State Scholastic Championship in the Varsity 8+ and Silver in the Second Varsity 8+ event. In addition, Weatherby won multiple dual and tri meets in her tenure at National Cathedral.
In the summer of 2009, Weatherby served as the U.S. Rowing Senior/U23/Lightweight Development Camp Assistant Coach at the Thompson Boat Center on the Potomac River in Washington, D.C. She worked with high level collegiate and post-collegiate athletes in order to train them for competition at the U.S. Rowing Nationals and Canadian Henley in the 2-. 4+, 4-, and 8+.
In 2008, Weatherby was head coach of the Thompson Boat Center Junior Women. Her team's notable accomplishments include earning Silver in the Women's Junior A 8+, Bronze in the Women's Junior A 4+, Silver in the Women's Junior B 8+, Gold and Bronze in the Women's Junior B 4+ at USRowing Club Nationals, and a 17th place finish in the Youth 8+ at the Head of the Charles. While at the Thompson Boat Center, she also served as Assistant Program Director.
From the fall of 2004 to the spring of 2007, Weatherby coached the freshman girls rowing team at her high school alma mater, Walt Whitman High School in Bethesda, Maryland.Â
Weatherby attended college at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. At Wisconsin, she was a four-year member of the rowing team. Notable accomplishments at Wisconsin include a win at the Big Ten Championships as well as a Silver medal at the Eastern Sprints Championship.Â

Weatherby got her start with rowing at Walt Whitman High School in Bethesda, MD and the Thompson Boat Center Rowing Club in Washington D.C. In 1998 and 1999 she also competed for the U.S. Junior National Team Development Camp, and the U.S. Junior National Team Selection Camp.Â
Weatherby graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 2004 with a B.S. in Psychology. In 2014, she completed her master's degree in Administrative Studies at Boston College. She is currently enrolled in the Carroll School of Management M.B.A. program at Boston College.Â
