Boston College men's hockey added former Eagle forward and two-time national champion Paul Carey '12 to the coaching staff as an assistant coach early in the 2022-23 season.
"We're excited to add someone with incredible character and experience to our coaching staff," said Schiller Family Head Coach Greg Brown. "Paul accomplished a great deal for Boston College and beyond as a professional, and we look forward to the many ways he will impact our players and our program."
Carey played four seasons on the Heights, winning three straight Hockey East championships and capturing NCAA titles as a sophomore in 2010 and as a senior in 2012. He skated in 147 career games with 45 goals and 41 assists for 86 points, recording a career-high 18 goals and 30 points while serving as an assistant captain as a senior in 2011-12.
The Weymouth native played in 100 career NHL games over seven years and recorded 16 points for the Avalanche, Capitals, Rangers, Senators and Bruins. Carey served as captain of the Providence Bruins for two seasons from 2019-21 and was an AHL All-Star in 2020, scoring 22 goals in back-to-back seasons.
He finished his professional career in Sweden last season for Djurgårdens IF of the SHL.
