Boston College Pom

POM
The Boston College Spirit Program consists of Cheer, Pom and Baldwin (the mascot). As the Official Dance Team of BC Athletics, the Pom team consists of a select group of female students who are devoted to the traditions of BC. While the team prides itself on competing at NDA Nationals in Daytona, Florida, it is primarily responsible for promoting Boston College Athletics, generating school spirit and crowd involvement at various functions, and representing the university as a whole. The dance team is present at both home and away football games, and home men’s and women’s basketball games, including post-season tournaments. The team also conducts clinics, performs at community events, and consistently qualifies and competes at NDA Nationals. The team has been seen on ABC, ESPN, College GameDay, Fox Sports and more.Â
Tryouts are typically held both in the spring and fall semesters, in late April and early September. Members come from a variety of backgrounds including studio dance in tap, jazz, contemporary, lyrical and hip hop, high school varsity dance teams, and classical ballet training.
