Boston College Cheerleading
CHEERLEADINGÂ
The Boston College Spirit Program consists of Cheer, Pom and Baldwin (the mascot). The BC Cheerleading team consists of a select group of male and female students who are devoted to the traditions of BC. While the team prides itself on competing at NCA Nationals in Daytona, Florida, it is primarily responsible for promoting Boston College Athletics, generating school spirit and crowd involvement at various functions, and representing the university as a whole. The cheer team is present at both home and away football games, including post-season bowl games and home men’s and women’s basketball games. The team also conducts clinics, performs at community events, and consistently qualifies and competes at NCA Nationals. The team has been seen on ABC, ESPN, College GameDay, Fox Sports and more.
Tryouts are typically held both in the spring and fall semesters, in late April and early September. Members come from a variety of backgrounds including all-star cheer, high school varsity cheer teams, or a number of other sports such as gymnastics, dance, and more.Â
