Sailing Claims Mystic Lake Invite

Jake Homberger adds a 2nd place finish at NEISA Open Singlehanded Champs
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College Sailing completed a busy weekend of competition, taking to the water across New England in four major regattas: the NEISA Open Singlehanded Championship, the Hatch Brown Trophy, the Regis Trophy, and the Mystic Lake Invite.
At the NEISA Open Singlehanded Championship, the Eagles battled through tough competition and shifting wind conditions. Jake Homberger took home second place after a valiant effort, recording 62 total points. Oliver Holt took ninth with 121 points, and Michael Sentovich finished 15th overall with 145 points.
On the Charles River at the Hatch Brown Trophy, hosted by MIT, Boston College fielded a deep lineup, taking fifth place overall out of 16 teams with 214 total points. Division A's Alex Lech (S) and Christian Yanoti (C) led the charge with a sixth-place overall finish, boosted by two top-five race finishes. Cody Roe (S) and Brooke Bergendahl (C) led Division B with a second-place effort, while Tanner Krygsveld (S) and Sydney Lombard (C) shipped Division C, claiming third, highlighted by a victory in race 4C.
The Eagles continued their strong sailing at Harvard's Regis Trophy, placing ninth overall in a 17-team fleet. Division A, led by Kate Joslin (S) and Madeline Torrey (C), paced the team with a ninth-place finish in the division standings. At the same time, Sophie Niemann (S) and Gabrielle Triner (C) shipped Division B, adding a steady eighth-place finish across eight rotations to keep BC in the middle of the pack.
Boston College capped off the weekend on a high note at Tufts' Mystic Lake Invite, earning top honors out of 6 competing teams. Ryan McGauley (S) and Kylie Craig (C) led Division A with 32 points, while James O'Gwen (S) and Delfina Fernandez (C) finished right behind in second with 38 points. Division C, skippered by Rogelio Casellas (S) and Wyatt Wilkinson (C), rounded out the lineup with a seventh-place finish, earning 66 points.
