LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Boston College field hockey team (2-5, 0-1 ACC) dropped its ACC opener to No. 16 Louisville (5-2, 1-0 ACC), 1-0, Friday night in an extended contest at Trager Stadium.
The Eagles came out strong offensively, outshooting the Cardinals, 10-7, in the opening half and earning five penalty corners. Despite the offensive pressure, neither team found the back of the cage as the game remained scoreless heading into halftime.
Lightning was detected with 4:32 remaining in the third quarter, sending the game into a weather delay with the score still knotted at 0-0.
Following the delay, both teams returned to the field looking to break the deadlock. Louisville ultimately found the deciding goal to secure the 1-0 victory.
