Eagles Split Friday Matches, Sweep Stonehill After Loss to SMU

WEYMOUTH, Mass. – The Boston College women's tennis team (7-6, 0-4 ACC) split a pair of matches Friday night, falling 4-0 to Southern Methodist (8-4, 2-3 ACC) before responding with a 4-0 victory over Stonehill (2-6, 2-0 NEC) Friday night.Â

SMU secured the doubles point to open the evening match. The Eagle duo of Bella Camacho and Tola Glowacka earned a 6-3 win at No. 2 doubles, and after Bella Camacho and Olivia Benton fell, it was up to No. 1 doubles. The Mustangs claimed victories at the No. 3 and No. 1 positions to take the early lead.

In singles play, SMU closed out the match with three straight-set victories. Amelie Van Impe defeated Seren Agar 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 singles, while Ellie Mireles topped Leyden Games 6-3, 6-2 at No. 4. Caroline McGinley secured the clinching point with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Natalie Eordekian at No. 3.
