CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Boston College men's tennis team (4-5, 0-3 ACC) fell 7-0 to North Carolina (9-4, 2-1 ACC) in Charlotte Thursday afternoon.

The Tar Heels secured the doubles point with victories at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions. Chris Xu and Nick Mangiapane defeated Aidan Pack and Matthew Overvelde, 6-3, at No. 2, while Ian Mayew and Kase Schinnerer topped Luke Levanat and Lukas Rais, 6-4, at No. 3. The No. 1 doubles match with Liam O'Leary and Matvey Greschner was tied 4-4 when play was stopped.

North Carolina carried the momentum into singles play, winning all six matches to clinch the sweep. The closest contest came at the top spot, where Chris Xu edged Mai Gao in a first-set tiebreak before finishing the match 7-6 (10-8), 6-1.
